Violence hits B C Road too

BANTWAL : Even as Mangalore slowly limped back to normalcy, violence once again hit BC Road which too had witnessed disturbance a few days ago, when miscreants struck a reign of terror near the BC Road bus stand forcing people to run helter skelter.
The rioteers who seemed to be very much pre-planned first snapped power connection and taking advantage of the darkness, attacked several shops and business establishments in the area and even hurled an explosive at people waiting for buses at the bus stand, forcing them to flee.
Several persons including the shop owners received stab injuries in the process and were admitted to the hospital. The assailants even robbed valuables on the person of the owners of some of the shops attacked.
Police security in the area was stepped up following the incident and several were taken into custody.
