Udupi DC convenes Suzlon meet discretely

From our Udupi office
UDUPI : In a surprising development, the Udupi deputy commissioner Ponnuraju is learnt to have convened a meeting of the committee formed to fix the value of the lands to be acquired for the project, in a hush hush manner without even intimating the journalists .
The closed door meeting was attended among others by the assistant commissoner and Suzlon and KIADB officials. While the meeting of evacees of Nandikur and Phalimar was held in the morning, the meeting of the affected people of Nadsalu and Hejamady villages was held in the afternoon with scribes disallowed for both the meetings, thus revealing the extent of transparency maintained by the authorities as far as this project is concerned. The Suzlon which aims at manufacturing spare parts of wind mills has already submitted a proposal to the KIDBI to sanction 1200 acres of land. Of this 500 acres of land has been identified in the first phase in which nearly 29 families will have to be evacuated.
