JD(S) dissidence in levelling charges too!
By CT reporter
MANGALORE : Dissidence seems to be a god given gift (?) to the Janata Dal (Secular) and this dissidence follows the party like its shadow wherever it goes.
Dissidence did not spare the party even in matters relating to the recent communal violnce that rocked the city. Recently, the JD(S) district president Vasanth Bangera had convened a press meet to blame the district minister Nagaraj Shetty for the recent violence and also for instigating violence.
But what was noticed was that another leader of the party, Amarnath Shetty was seen behind Nagaraj Shetty all the time recently. Amarnath Shetty did not mention anywhere of the district minister’s role in the violence. Does it mean or does his silence mean that he backs the district minister ?.
But, Vasanth Bangera has turned up against Nagaraj Shetty and his charges would definitely land the coalition government in a piquant situation.
However, this is not the first time that Bangera has voiced his opinion against the BJP or a BJP leader. Once earlier, he had even backed the Congress in the ZP elections. In Mangalore taluk panchayat however, Amarnath Shetty had backed the BJP.
As at present, the JD(S) has no much strength in the district. On the other hand, chief minister Kumaraswamy has the fear that Bangera may even join the Congress in case he asks him to snap ties with the Congress. Now, by blaming Shetty for the violence, Bangera is once again in the news. He has even stressed the need for a coordination committee between the two parties in the district as done at the state level. This suggestion, it is believed, aimed at creating problems for Amarnath Shetty.
This latest incident only proves that dissidence does not spare JD(S) at any point of time, be it any matter.
