Imam’s murder: Are the arrested actual killers?

MANGALORE : The police team led by Kadri inspector Chandrashekhar had recently arrested seven persons in connection with the murder of Abdul Gafoor Madani, Imam of a mosque, at Bejai Anegundi during the recent riots. But the question now is, are the arrested the actual killers of the Imam?
Though the usual practice is for the cops to detail on the arrests and the investigation process, in this particular case, no such information has been provided. What has been noticed is that the police are in an undue haste to close the case by arresting someone.
Those arrested in connection with the murder are Gopal of Belthangady, Pramod Suvarna of Venoor, Ravi alias Annappa, Mohan alias Mohan Rao, KB Manoj alias Manoj Kumar of Kavoor Gandhinagar, Vijaya Prakash of Kumpala and Padmaraj of Mangalore. But what is being heard of late is that the police have just passed the buck on some innocents just to please one particular community and also to evade the blame of being inactive.
Police say a bike has been recovered from the arrested. The question is whether all the accused moved in the same bike ? It is not known if the arrested have divulged about the other vehicles used by them.
There are many who even question how the cops who could not arrest a certain Lakshman, the accused in the murder of a young lady in the city, could apprehend the killers of the Imam within such a short span when they have still been unable to solve the mysteries behind many murders that took place long back.
The police who did not look back in blaming the Dandupalya gang for the murder of a doctor in the city a few years ago, can very well put the blame on innocents in this murder case too.
Probably, the real culprits in this case may be laughting at the act of our cops !.
