Titledeeds sans land

MANGALORE : The nearly 45 perople of Bajpe are facing a piquant situation. They have titledeeds in their hands, but no land to build houses. They are still running from pillar to post with title deeds.But, how can the panchayat authorities or the government understand their plight ?.
Four years ago, the then legislator Vijaykumar Shetty had issued title deeds to 57 people to construct houses under Ashraya scheme. Of them 12 had constructed houses at Bajpe Oddidakala. The rest are strill struggling to construct houses for want of suitable site.
Though there are several vacant government lands in Bajpe, the adjacent land owners are learnt to have objected to construction of houses there. Even the panchayat authorities are not taking any step to end the problem and the plight of these poor seems unending.
