Jayaprakash accused of cheating Koragas

UDUPI : Baikady Suprasad Shetty, the presideet of the Brahmavar unit of the BJP has charged the Brahmavar legislator Jayaprkash Hegde of cheating the Dalits by transferring the land allotted for the Koragas to some other person.
Shetty has also demanded the resignation of the legislator and also legal action against him.
According to Shetty, the 80.95 acre land at Shiroor near Mandarthi in Brahmavar that was earmarked for Koragas was transferred to one Joy Varghese under the Akrama Sakrama scheme when Hegde was the committee chairman by colluding with the tahsildar Mary Mathias.
It has been gathered that Joy had applied for the land in 19 benami names and the land duly transferred within 17 days.
Shetty is now questioning how the land could be sanctioned to Varghese who was not at all eligible to be a beneficiary under the scheme. Shetty has further threatened that the BJP would resort to a massive protest if the land was not transferred to Koragas within one month.
