Udupi dist admn complex at Manipal at any cost: MLA

From our Udupi office
UDUPI : The Udupi legislator Raghupathi Bhat has said that the Udupi district administration complex would be constructed at the Manipal End Point itself at any cost.
Speaking at a face-to-face meeting organised by the local Consumers’ Forum recently, the legislator said the Manipal Pais have so far not kept up their words to withdaw their writ filed in the High Court against the government proposal to utilise the 31 acre land at the Manipal End Point for the construction of the district administration complex.
Continuing, Bhat said even in case the Pais continued their legal battle, their chances of winning the same are remote and that the public interest would finally be upheld. The complex would definitely come up at Manipal, he added.
Bhat also ralled how the proposal submitted to the government by the deputy commissioner of undivided DK in the year 1994 had mentioned clearly that it would be best to set up the district administration complex of the separated Udupi district in the 32 acre government owned land at Manipal.
"Why is it that this location which was found ideal for the district administration complex 12 years ago, not ideal now ?," Bhat questioned and added no other location in Udupi and its surroundings was ideally suited for the complex. Bhat on this occasion also chose to say that he was a respondent in the case in the High Court and added he was bearing the court expenses from his own pocket.
