Police commissionerate for M’lore

From our Bangalore office
BANGALORE : State Home Minister MP Prakash has informed that a Police Commissionerate’s Office would be set up in Mangalore which had witnessed communal riots recently.
The minister has also said that a police commissioner of IGP rank would be deputed to the city, with two IPS officers under him.
It has been gathered that the state government has given its immediate approval to the proposal for a police commissionerate office in the wake of the recent incidents of violence. It may be recalled here that such a proposal was pending since the past ten years, with the home ministry however failing to come to any conclusion till recently.
