Top excise officers suspended for failing to reach target

MANGALORE : In a sudden development, the state government has issued an order suspending the excise joint commissioner Rajanna and the Udupi dstrict excise comissioner Haridas recently.
But many may wonder if the two officials might have committed serious blunders. But no, that is not the case. The main charges against them is that they had failed in reaching the targetted liquor sale.
The area of operation of the excise joint commissioner comes in Udupi, Karkala, Shimoga and Kodagu districts Presently, it has been gathered that liquor sale in Udupi was down and the two top officials have been victimised for no fault of theirs.
