PA Hegde to head Anti-Rowdy Squad?

By CT reporter
MANGALORE : Will the Pandeshwar circle inspector PA Hegde be made the next chief of the District Anti-Rowdy Squad ? Yes, say police department sources. But, the district superintendent of police B Dayanand is yet to say yes to this.
Ever since Gaonkar has been suspended, several officials are eying the Bunder station as well as the Anti-Rowdy Squad. It has been the custom since long that the inspectors of Bunder station have themselves been made the Anti-Rowdy Squad chiefs.
Here it may be worth recalling here that PA Hegde had once taken up the responsibility of the Squad when he was the sub-inspector in Pandeshwar station. Now, it is also being said that PA Hegde is enjoying the patronage of the Kalladka high command of the Sangh Parivar which was also instrumental in shunting Venkatesh Prasanna, known as one of the corrupt officers, from Pandeshwar to Mulki.
In the meantime, leaders of some Hindu organisations are demanding that in case it was not PA Hegde, then at least the Ullal inspector Jayanth Shetty should be made the Squad chief.
