No security to Udupi Krishna Mutt?

From our Udupi office
UDUPI : It has been several months since newspaper reports referring to intelligence reports indicated about the terrorist threat to the Udupi Krishna Mutt which was in the hit list of terrorists. Then there were reports that the temple would be brought under security cover and strict vigil would be maintained.
But, it has been noticed of late that there has been a serious security lapse with actually no major security arrangements made in the temple, thereby staking the interests of the thousands of devotees visiting the temple.
Except for a namesake metal detector at the entrance of the temple, no other security arrangement has been made. What has been noticed at present is that anyone can enter freely without any restriction from

the rear door of the temople.
As in any other ordinary temple, any suspicious person can enter this temple in the guise of a devotee and the absence of proper security arrangements in the temple is only inviting terrorists, locals feel. The temple management by neglecting the security aspect, was playing with the lives of the people, many feel.
There is no dearth of funds for the Krishna Mutt. Still the apathy of the management in making adequate security arrangements has made many eyebrows raise.
The devotees ardently feel that the government should take serious note of this security lapse and direct the temple administration to ensure adequate security arrangements.
