PADUBIDRI : Close on the heels of a recent public meeting convened in Padubdiri to enable political parties to make clear their stand on the controversial project, the Nagarjuna officials have been accused of attacking a few members of the Nandikur Jana Jagrithi Samithi and some villagers.
It has been learnt that a few officials of the company who entered the residence of a certain Ramamurthi in Kemmundelu in Ellur village, somehow persuaded the occupants of the house to watch CDs about the project. However, on getting information of the same, villagers and some members of the Nandikur Janajagrithi Samithi rushed to the residence of Ramamurthi only to be attacked by the Nagar-juna staff in their bid to escape. Two persons named Jayaprakash and Lokesh were injured in the process.
In this connection, complaints have been lodged against Nagarjuna officials MM Shetty, Veena Shetty, staffers namely Prashanth, Sridhar, Gopal, Sanjeev, Suresh, Pratibha, Mohini, Sundari, Malati, Sadhana and Prasad.
On the other hand, even the Nagarjuna officials have also lodged a counter complaint stating that two of their men have been admitted to the hospital, following which cases have been registered against Santosh Shetty and Lokesh.
Members of the Jana Jagrithi Samithi even staged a demonstration outside the station seeking action against the attackers.
Their complaint was that the Nagarjuna staff who attacked them, later on went straight to the hospital to get admitted merely to twist facts.
