Congmen resent caste politics of Oscar, Sorake

From our Udupi office
UDUPI : It has been gathered of late that there is a growing resentment within the Congress over the caste politics resorted to by union minister Oscar Fernandes and former Udupi MP Vinaykumar Sorake.
Congressmen belonging to the Hindu community are sore over Ocar particularly because they argue that the union minister was unduly favouring his own minority community men who are given prominent postings in the party. They also complain that Hindu leaders are offended in the Congress.
As if to prove this contention, the Udupi District Congress president MA Gafur, DK DCC Chief Blasius D’Souza and Udupi District Mahila Congress president Veronica Carnelio, all belong to the religious minority communities.
There is no denying that caste politics had a role to play behind the appointment of Veronica and in this act, Oscar was duly backed by the former Udupi MP Vinaykumar Sorake.
This was amply proved with Veronica taking charge not in the District Congress Office but in Sorake’s office.
Today many Congressmen are having a doubt if at all Sorake who while being MP had resorted to caste politics was now holding a darbar in the Mahila Congress.
Objections are also being raised over his action of holding meets that ought to be held in the District Congress office, in his office.
