Shetty keen on transferring Billawa officials

By CT reporter
MANGALORE: Allegations are presently being heard against the district minister Nagaraj Shetty that he is evincing undue interest in the transfer of officials, particularly Billawa officials serving various departments in the district. Already, several Billawa officials have even been transferred, reveal sources.
What is noteworthy is that majority of the transferred Billawa officials are class I officials. This, many feel, has made it evident that the BJP only eyed Billawa votes while not having any concern for the community.
While the fact is that the Billawa votes have played a significant role in the upper hand of the BJP in the district, this blatant neglect of Billawa officials, has invited the wrath of the Billawa community.
Already the Bantwal tahsildar Krishnappa Poojari has been transferred to Karwar, Chandrashekhar Poojari, ranger in Bantwal to Mangalore, Sadashiv Poojari, ARTO in Puttur to a place outside the district, Jayanna Poojari, assistant engineer in Belthangady to a non-executive post, Bantwal deputy tahsildar Lokesh Poojari to Moodbidri and Vishwanath Poojari, ZP officer to Udupi.
This widespread transfer of Billawa officials has now turned out to be a hot topic of debate in the district.
