By CT reporter
MANGALORE : At a district level peace committee meeting that was held in the city recently in the wake of the unprecedented violence that hit various parts of the city and the district, several speakers opined that the district administration should henceforth not allow any organisation to give a call for a bundh.
There was a loud applause in the meeting when Mangalore legislator N Yogish Bhat said that there should be no more bundhs in the district .
Some other leaders demanded a ban on some organisations which are the root casue of communal violence, while there was also a demand to shift the slaughter house at Kudroli that raked up controversies now and then.
District superintendent of police B Dayananda mentioned in the meeting that there were three burning issues, cattle transportation, eve teasing and inter-caste and inter-religion love affairs that many a time snow balled into communal tensions.
