Cops disinterested in probing Hitendra murder?

From our Udupi office
UDUPI : In an alarming development, it has been learnt that the Udupi police are showing disinterest in busting the mystery behind the murder of Udupi’s notorious criminal and blackmail journalist Hitendra Prasad. The main reason for this concern is the inordinate delay in subjecting the prime accused Pitti Nagesh to a lie detector test.
Though senior officials have recommended such a test, police officials who are in the probing team have come to the conclusion that such a test was not needed.
The main reason for their disinterest is the fact that subjecting Nagesh to such a test would only expose the links between some cops and criminal elelemts.
Apart from this, even some businessmen who might have played a role in the Hittendra murder, do not want such a test for fear of exposure.
In the meantime, some forces behind the murder are spreading rumours that there would be another murder and so on just to divert police attention and to avert any chances of the police needle of suspicion pointing towards them.
At present, there is also a general feeling that it would be more apt to hand over the case to the CoD for a thorough investigation.
