Traditional doc kills trespassing calf

VITTAL : In what could be termed as a barbaric act, a well-known traditional medical practitioner of Vittal Padnur, beat an innocent calf of his neighbour to death for the sole reason that the calf had trespassed into his compound.
Reports say the traditional medical practitioner Venkappa Naika and his children Monappa and Narayan are the culprits in this case.
The one and a half year old male calf belonged to KA Mohammad, a neighbour of the doctor. When the calf which was let for grazing, had for the first time entered Naika’s compound, he had warned its owner against the trespassing of the calf and had also threatened to kill it if the incident repeated.
Again the next day, the calf was missing and on a serach it was found dead in a drain near the residence of Venkappa with blood oozing out of its mouth.
Aboobakker says when enquired Venkappa divulged that his son caned the calf resulting in its death.
A complaint has been lodged against Venkappa and his sons for killing the calf.
