Explosives seized from Tamil eve in Karkala

From CT correspondent
KARKALA : Karkala police recently arrested a woman of Tamil origin and have seized explosive devices worth around Rs 40,000 from her.
The explosives were traced when the cops on suspicion stopped the woman named Susheela (50) who was on way to Chikkalbettu from Jarkala junction in Kukkundur village. The explosive materials included 125 powergel explosive, 525 intallation electrical detonators, 1000 gelatin sticks and four brand jet connections.
The accused has been produced before court and remanded to 15 days of judicial custody.
It is believed that there were several others like Susheela who transport explosives in Karkala area . While some are used for mining purposes, even the possibility of these explosives reaching the hands of Naxals who are active in the region, cannot be ruled out.
In the meantime reliable sources indicated that some persons of Kerala and Tamil Nadu origin were supplying explosives to some in the region.
Investigations are in progress.
