Consumers’ Board comes into being in city

MANGALORE : A consumers’ board has been formed in the city recently under the aegis of various organisations including Consumers’ Forum , Mangalore and Moodbidri, Federation of consumer organisations of DK District and Consumers’ Awareness Forum of Kinnigoli.
Padmanabha Shetty Niddodi is the president of this new organisation, while Ivan Pais, Ganga Prakash, Jyothi, Dinesh Bhandarkar and MJ Salian are its vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and honorary presidentrespectively.
The main objective of the Board is to secure justice to the consumers who knowingly or unknowingly get cheated.
Already, it has received nearly 13 petitions seeking justice and most of the petitioners are those cheated by the Manipal Finance’s Soubhagya Nidhi.
