Builders encroach footpath on Kalakunj road

MANGALORE : The builders of a multi-storied construction coming up on the PVS Kalakunj road in the city are found to have encroached the nearby footpath, much to the inconvenience of the passersby. It has been found that the builders have dumped the construction materials right on the footpath leaving no space for the pedestrians who are forced to step on to the road itself.
Even the complaint lodged by the locals with the corporation authorities have proved futile making it ample clear that there was some secret adjustment between thse builders and the corporation officials.
Moreover, this particular road is quite busy with schools and other educational institutions located in the vicinity, and students passing through this road have to face much problem.
What can we say about the unique style of functioning of our city corporation which keeps its eyes closed when it comes to matters pertaining to violation of rules by the influential and instead does not hesitate to initiate action against the poor?
